THE CHALLENGE

As Innovate UK KTN launched a new 5-year strategy, senior management wanted to find ways to take all staff along the new direction by generating enthusiasm and a sense of urgency around key strategic pillars.

THE APPROACH

Working closely with senior management I led 2 rounds of participatory collaborative activities with a select groups of members of staff:

Round 1 aimed to focus on meeting the 'year 1' strategic goals.
Round 2 focussed on the strategic goals for 'years 2 to 5'

Each round comprised of 12 remote workshops which I designed, prepared and facilitated.

THE RESULT

The participatory activities formed working groups around each of the prioritised tasks that emerged from the sessions. The participants were enthusiastic about their involvement in the new strategy roll-out, and crucially, everyone had the opportunity to contribute their ideas and take ownership of their part of the strategy delivery plan. This was a completely bespoke workshop design, and its success hinged on a deep understanding of the ambitions and challenges faced by the diverse pool of stakeholders. This insight enabled me to develop tailored approaches that brought senior leadership's ambitions to fruition.
